I went to the studio last night and started this- In case you are wondering, I was listening to Deep House.
Woke up at 7am Sunday morning to fill my car with flowers and meet my client at Il Cielo, Beverly Hills to set up for the party. White ceramic vases spilling over with giant succulents, seashells, anemones, white hydrangeas and thistle cheered on this sweet mother-to-be in her final stages of pregnancy. Fortunately the rain barely came trickling from the sky above as the ladies sipped on white wine and smoked salmon appetizers.
This is the time of year when everybody wants something big and beautiful. I made this wreath for a client’s front entrance and believe it or not she lives alone and is in her 80’s. She told me seeing a seasonal wreath in her hallway makes her feel happy when she comes home. That same day, I made the big white arrangement for Hollywood ledgends Fay and Frank Mancusos’ 60th wedding anniversary. Roses, hydrangeas, orchid and diamonds of course-
The annual Stone Canyon Christmas urn project! When I came down the escalator from the garage I saw the massive stack of imported winterberries and snowy branches. I love red and I just knew I had to use these somewhere. Then I saw the dogs and remembered the client had a few black labs…My juices were flowing and things were coming together marvelously! Here are the behind the scenes photos of this project. It makes me happy looking back on this job.
When I stepped inside the walk-in cooler downtown Los Angeles, I was confronted by large mounds of wintergreens. All these wreaths are made onsite at the Flower Market. The fragrance was intoxicating! I bought a large tower of them for an upcoming Holiday Boutique at Calvary in the Palisades, December 2 from 8am-3pm. Come shopping!
